Before we all head off for the summer, we have some major updates to share with you. We can finally unveil our plans for 2026 and beyond: QCI Next. We’re also introducing our ion-trap Pilot Line, adding more systems to QCI Connect and are inviting you to our next community event, AFQC 2027. There’s so much happening at DLR QCI … let’s get started!

We’ve built a unique ecosystem for sovereign and competitive quantum computing. But what’s next? Beginning this summer we connect full-stack development, ecosystem growth, and scalable quantum applications for real impact.

Presenting: QCI Pilot Line
Through our Pilot Line, we help ion-trap quantum startups turn their IP into working technology in our state-of-the-art cleanroom and laser laboratories. Under ideal, secure conditions they can scale their technologies and get ready for the foundry.
AFQC 2027: 25 & 26 May in Hannover
Get your pens and schedulers out! Here’s our Save the Date for our next community conference. AFQC 2027 will take place 25 & 26 May 2027 (tbc.) in Hannover. We’ll let you know about all the details as soon as they emerge. But prepare for two days of everything that made AFQC 2026 great plus much of what you wish(ed) for in our feedback campain – and of course this is, again, going to be community driven, participative, open. AFQC 2027 is an event by DLR QCI and Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS).
Much more Connect
We’ve added new systems to our compute platform QCI Connect: an emulator of our neutral atom quantum computer DiNAQC, of our ion-trap quantum computer XAPHIRO (both powered by our HPC cluster Kratos), a digitl twin of QSea II and our digitally configurable analogue computer REDAC! That’s quite a lot of extra compute to get ready for the real quantum compute.
