Contractor wanted for R-QIP project

22. April 2024

We are looking for companies to support our project R-QIP in the development of efficient and practical countermeasures against quantum errors in quantum computer systems – specifically the implementation of a hardware decoder for classical product CSS codes. Participation in the tender process is possible via TED 238276-2024. The submission deadline is 21 May 2024 at 2 pm. We have published the tender documents and specifications on subreport ELViS .

The “Reliable Quantum Information Processing” (R-QIP) project of the DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation aims to develop efficient and practical countermeasures against quantum errors in quantum computer systems. The main focus is on solutions for NISQ devices: error-prone quantum computers of medium size.

First, a detailed error model of current quantum computer platforms is developed. Based on this error model, the focus of R-QIP is on the development of optimised error control and mitigation strategies to protect the quantum information in the quantum hardware from decoherence.

Collaboration in the R-QIP project

The industrial partner is working on an implementation of a hardware decoder for classic product CSS codes.

Specific tasks include

  • Definition of requirements and trade-offs,
  • Design and implementation of a breadboard for a single-shot decoder,
  • Final demonstration and employee training.

All information can be found in the tender documents including the service description on subreport ELViS.
