Quantum computing also has enormous potential for small and medium-sized enterprises. We support them in determining their own needs based on real use cases and planning the next steps – independently, confidentially and with DLR’s expertise.
Find out how your organisation can benefit from quantum computing. Fill out our contact form and we’ll get back to you to discuss how we can support you. Projects receive 80 per cent funding from the local economic development agency.

The first step is a guided questionnaire: Together with you, we analyse the suitability of your use case for a solution on quantum computers and ask about the general conditions and expectations. The result of this assessment is the basis for an intensive workshop. After a successful evaluation, we apply for funding together.
Workshop
We now know your potential use cases and the framework conditions. Now we formulate the concrete procedure: First, we develop strategies together to concretise individual use cases, test them for quantum computing suitability and finally implement them. To do this, we discuss all the necessary technical and organisational conditions. In complete confidence, of course.
Conception &
Implementation
Phase 3 is about implementation: in close consultation with you, we create a concept, implement the use case including the appropriate algorithms and test the solutions on our quantum computers. We accompany this phase with customised training for your employees and the upgrading of the relevant personnel areas. We also investigate further ways in which quantum computing can be integrated into your company.
Roadmap
The result of the concept study is a customised roadmap to quantum readiness for your company: You can use it to assess whether and how your company can benefit from quantum computing, on what time scale quantum computing is relevant for you and what realistic expectations regarding profitability are.
Successful transfer · Examples from the DLR ELEVATE project
Quantum computers calculate on the basis of quantum effects and therefore differ fundamentally from conventional computers. The development of modern quantum computers has reached a phase in which the first applications are being implemented in practice and offer initial advantages over conventional programmes. The ELEVATE project supported scientists from all DLR institutes in analysing the feasibility of quantum computer projects. The aim of the project is to enable DLR-wide institutes to work with quantum computers and to establish a strong position for DLR in the field of quantum computing methods. You can benefit from this experience in the development of quantum readiness with QCI Solutions.

Quantum-optimised expansion planning of energy networks
Energy grids are complex and are becoming increasingly complex. Traditional methods of energy grid planning and modelling have long since reached their limits – which quantum computers can overcome. In the DLR ELEVATE project, the DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems together with the DLR Institute of Software Technologies developed a test use case, which they are now successfully implementing in the DLR QCI project Attraqt’em together with contractor Fraunhofer IIS.
Better radar reconnaissance with the help of quantum computers
Earth observation from space using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important tool for many socially relevant applications, for example in climate protection or security. However, the data volumes and data processing requirements associated with new SAR systems exceed the capabilities of conventional approaches. In the DLR ELEVATE project, the DLR Institute of High Frequency Technology and Radar Systems developed a test use case, which they are now successfully implementing in the DLR QCI project QUA-SAR together with contractor Hensoldt.

Our expertise, our services
Quantum computing is not difficult, but it is unfamiliar. However, due to its enormous potential and in order to remain competitive in the long term, it is worth becoming quantum ready, i.e. actively engaging with quantum computing.
With QCI Solutions, you benefit threefold from DLR’s in-depth expertise in many industry-relevant topics, the quantum expertise of the DLR Institute of Software Technologies and access to its own quantum computers.
Quantum computer
The quantum computers are a central component of QCI Solutions. We use them to test your use cases under real conditions.
