Update 01 / 2025

++ We enable Impact ++ Quantum2025 ++ AFQC 2025 & World of Quantum ++ News ++ Jobs

2024 was an exciting year for DLR QCI: we put our first two quantum computers into operation and opened the clean room in the Hamburg Innovation Centre. As of the end of 2024, we have successfully launched 60 projects for hardware, software and applications and brought 23 industrial partners on board.

Because it was clear from the outset that we, our teams and, in fact, the entire ecosystem would be all about scaling up in 2024, we organised our activities under the motto Scale up! This was a self-diagnosis, status description and impetus for action at the same time.

However, we have set ourselves even bigger goals for 2025: Next year, for us and the entire ecosystem, it will be about making an impact, showcasing successes and bringing quantum computing not just into application, but into perception. In short, 2025 will be about impact!

We will demonstrate the positive impact that our projects and teams, our two innovation centres and, of course, we ourselves have on the ecosystem and on Germany as a business location. Together with the ecosystem, we will have an impact at European level and at the same time see local activities take off: we and the entire ecosystem will feel the demand for All things Quantum next year. That is also impact!

We also want to show this new energy in our events, which is why we will present the AFQC with a new, strong format next year: AFQC 2025: Impact! as a double feature directly before the World of Quantum on 22 & 23 June 2025 in Munich with our friends from MQV. And on top of that, we can hardly wait to open our QCI Labs & Workshops at the innovation centres: a completely new opportunity to engage productively with us, our projects and quantum computing in general.

So there is a lot to do. We are therefore looking forward to many new successes, great energy and an exciting quantum year 2025 with you. Let’s enable quantum!

Our events 2025

What will our events look like in 2025? As interactive, communicative and lively as our Showcase and the All Hands in Hamburg in November. No more: one person speaks and everyone listens. Instead, we want to activate your expertise and skills, work together to develop solutions for the most important issues in our ecosystem and make an impact together.

QCI Enabling Services

Our quantum computers for the ecosystem

In 2025, we will provide computing time on our first quantum computers to partners from research and start-ups via our quantum-as-a-service platform QCI Connect. This means: real hardware for real use cases! QCI Connect is one of three QCI Enabling Services with which we will enable small and medium-sized enterprises in particular for quantum computing alongside research and industry. With real quantum hardware, a lot of practical experience in the use of quantum computers and the domain knowledge of our DLR experts, we support German industry on its way to quantum readiness.

Working at the DLR QCI

We are looking for 3 colleagues

We are growing and need reinforcements in our innovation centres in Hamburg and Ulm.

🔺 2 × Operation of our quantum computers: We are currently developing and building quantum computers in 11 hardware projects, which we put into operation in our innovation centres and make available to our research teams, partners and industry via our enabling service QCI Connect. We are looking for one person per innovation centre to operate the quantum computers.. All information about the application

🔺1 × Assistant (f/m/d) for DLR QCI Manager Robert Axmann to support him in day-to-day business and with a wide range of coordination, organisation and information tasks: This specifically includes support in the planning, design and realisation of our current and future live formats. All information about the application
