QCMobility workshop in Ulm

10. January 2025

Shortly before Christmas, the QCMobility team and the DLR Quantum Computing Initiative came to Ulm for a workshop to discuss the achievements of the first year of the project and to grow even closer together as a team. Our task is to develop a “Quantum Computing and Mobility” roadmap for solving industry-relevant optimisation problems in the fields of air transport, road transport, rail transport, maritime and intermodal transport using quantum algorithms. This is challenging and the main aim is to find and utilise as many synergies as possible between the individual transport sectors. Because we are stronger as a team than alone.

Now that the foundations have been laid, we will tackle the optimisation problems with quantum algorithms from the NISQ area as well as with (early) fault-tolerant algorithms over the next two years of the project. In addition to simulations, we will also be using real quantum computers, soon in collaboration with our industrial partners.
